design inspiration: black and white

I'm not usually a fan of black and white interiors. I think it's because a lot of the time they're done in a very glitzy, glammed up way, which definitely isn't my style.

But this room.
Oh boy, I sure do like this.

This is neither glitzy nor glam.
To me, it is perfect.

I agree, this looks great, even though black interiors aren't usually my thing.

Just this year, I started to want a black wall somewhere in my house. And seeing rooms like these is definitely the reason. I don't think I have the guts to do it though!

I find it kind of Gothic like interior design. And it’s beautiful.

I never thought black and white themed interior designs could be this beautiful. I’m very impress.

Everything about this is gorgeous! I am totally filing this image away... also, a good not-too-glam black-ish paint that I have used and love is chalkboard paint. It ends up being a really rich dark charcoal, and only gets the chalky lighter look when it is treated. We have a wall of it at home and it looks almost excactly like that photo.

Thanks for the tip, Jessie. We actually did a chalkboard door in our kitchen, and you're right -- I do like the black color. It's not too black. Great suggestion!
