design inspiration: decorating with blue

To lots of people, blue and white interiors evoke a feeling of being at the seaside. I get that too, but I'm also reminded of winter in the midwest. On those rare sunny days when the sky is blue and there is a blanket of soft white snow on the ground, it's just magic.

    love that blue kitchen! i'm getting so excited to move in a few months, because hopefully it means i'll be able to decorate in a more permanent way! love this blue and white...

    OK, you've got a convert here! That weathered cupboard is awesome. I typically go for warmer colors like reds, yellows, etc., but these images have me wanting some blue in our home. It looks so peaceful.

    Ooh, I love this! This is the look I'm trying to accomplish in our place, but it doesn't look quite as good as these pictures:) I really love the white subway tile floor on the fourth picture.
