kinda makes you stop and think

A woman on the train today looked up at me with a sincere look of concern on her face and asked me if I wanted to take her place and sit. I'm pretty sure she thought I was pregnant. Which I'm not. Hmm... time to start that diet.

  3. Nope, Jen, I'm so not kidding. I suppose it doesn't help that I was wearing a bit of a maternity-esque dress, but still. Ugh.

Thanks, Karey! I'll try to keep telling myself that.

  4. Oh sweetie! Well at least she didn't ask when your baby is due. That happened to a friend of mine.

On a brighter note, aahh! I can't believe you live in Chicago! I have only lived in California for 2 years, other than that I lived on (born and raised) the Northside! (Sheridan & Granville)

  5. Hi Gigi! I'm pretty sure that if she asked when the baby was due, I would have started crying right there on the spot. Good thing she didn't go that far!

What a small world that you're originally a midwest-girl.. and Chicago at that! (I'm actually a transplant from Wisconsin but have lived here about 8 years now.)

Keep up the yummy baking over there in Sunny California! I check your blog all the time to see what great recipes you're coming up with.

  6. This made me laugh - I think the popularity of empire waists has ruined some of us girls. Last year I was wearing a very cutesy summer dress in a particular fabric store when the lady working the front desk came over and asked if I wanted to see their new baby fabrics. What was I gonna say? I felt so bad, I didn't want to break her heart by telling her I've just gained a bit of weight so I just rolled with it. So sorry, but I've been there!
